Solar panel installation and maintenance, or livestock farming: the two trade subjects MDGC offers under the Federal Ministry of Education curriculum.

The Federal Ministry of Education's revised curriculum requires every secondary student to learn a trade alongside academic subjects. From the approved list, MyDreams Global College offers two, chosen because both are practised in Enugu State today and will still be in demand when this year's JSS 1 students leave school.
One trade, JSS 1 to SSS 3.
Students choose one trade in JSS 1 and continue it to SSS 3. It is taught in timetabled periods with practical sessions, assessed each term like every other subject, and sat as an examinable subject in the BECE and the senior school certificate examinations.
Solar panel installation and maintenance
How photovoltaic systems generate and store power, and how to install and look after them safely. Students work on the college's own solar installation and on training rigs in the technology workshop.
What students learn
- How solar cells, charge controllers, inverters and batteries work together
- Sizing a small system for a home, shop or classroom
- Safe mounting, cabling, earthing and connection to an inverter
- Battery care, fault-finding and routine maintenance
- Costing a job and writing a simple quotation
Leads to: Work as a solar technician or installer, an electrical apprenticeship, or further study in electrical and electronics engineering, physics or renewable energy.
Livestock farming
Rearing poultry, goats and rabbits on the school farm. Students run the farm in teams through the year and account for every naira spent and earned.
What students learn
- Housing, feeding and watering for poultry, goats and rabbits
- Breeding, brooding and raising young stock
- Preventing and recognising common diseases; when to call the vet
- Farm records: stock, feed, costs and sales
- Marketing produce and pricing for profit
Leads to: A small livestock business, an agricultural apprenticeship, or further study in animal science, agriculture or veterinary medicine.

New JSS 1 students try both during orientation week before choosing. The counselling unit can help if a family is undecided.
